Performance & Value

To produce a loudspeaker that meets our standards for performance and value, we took complete control of the manufacturing process, an unprecedented move at this price point. In our state-of-the-art North American facility, we have produced a loudspeaker that defies convention; a homegrown loudspeaker that benefits from innovations found throughout the Paradigm family of loudspeakers.

Patented Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA™) Tweeter and Midrange Lens Technology

Distinctive perforated lens in front of the tweeter and midrange drivers increase and smooth output without coloring the sound, while also protecting the drivers from getting damaged.

Patented Active Ridge Technology (ART™) Surrounds

Premier features Paradigm’s patented Active Ridge Technology (ART) surrounds, made in-house and overmolded directly onto each woofer and midrange cone. This design achieves greater excursion, for a 3dB gain in output and 50% reduction in distortion. Crafted from injection-molded thermoplastic elastomer, ART surrounds are more durable and more reliable, ensuring a lifetime of superior sound.

Crafted in Canada

Premier Series speakers are designed, engineered, and made in Paradigm’s state-of-the-art 225,000 ft2 Canadian facility. We chose heavy duty, non-resonant 3/4-inch MDF, with optimally placed interior bracing, and reinforced front baffles to ensure an audio performance beyond any other in this price range. Smooth front baffles, enhanced with 1-inch MDF, reduce diffraction and improve sound radiation characteristics. You can feel the Premier build quality that comes from true handcrafted manufacturing. Beautiful, furniture-grade finishes complete this new standard of performance and value.

Partnered with the NRC

Paradigm is partnered with Canada’s world-renowned NRC in ongoing research to reveal the true nature of sound and human hearing. Findings influence design and performance specs, resulting in a uniquely realistic listening experience, backed by sound science.

So I'm not some home theater enthusiast or audiophile with a $30,000 "listening room" that's been acoustically treated or anything. I'm certainly interested in AV gear, I'm just not really "into" it as a hobby if that makes sense. Consider this a review for the everyman. I don't spend all weekend swapping speakers between 10 different amplifiers and cataloguing my experience. I'm just a guy who wanted to level up the family living room. We use the living room for watching movies, youtube, playing video games, and I have a sizable record collection that gets some occasional play. These speakers in my weirdly shaped living room, with suboptimal acoustics, sound downright incredible. They also look really good (imo), which makes my wife happy since even getting agreement on adding floorstanding speakers was already a challenge. We got the gloss white cause it matched our furniture better and she remarked on how well they fit our living room aesthetics. I'm happy to report both speakers arrived in 100% impeccable, blemish free condition, save for a single fleck of cardboard that came off the box that can obviously be wiped away. The instructions even take care to mention to take off any rings or belts when handling the speakers so I think it's clear a lot of care is taken to preserve the finish of them in the factory. Alright, let's get into some layman pragmatics about the sound: Firstly, they're really forgiving with placement. I read the manual that says to avoid putting them in corners, and ensure they're away from the wall, and toe them in, and etc. I followed the advice the best I could but in our room did have to be relatively "tucked in" between two cabinets on either side of our TV. As such I'm happy to report that even with sub-optimal placement they still sound amazing. They are very forgiving in that regard. The "sweet spot" is large - we aren't talking like some magic 6 inch area where you have to hold your head to get the ultimate sound. They have a very wide field of acceptable sound which I think makes them an fantastic choice for a normal living room multiple people actually use. I can lay on the couch, read a book, and listen to music and the sound is still A+. A point I see almost no one mention - since most reviews talk about how loud everything can get - the speakers also sound fully detailed when at LOW volume. I know a decent amp/AVR likely helps a lot in this regard (we have a Yamaha RX-A4A if anyone cares), but if I wake up early I don't want to have to crank up the speakers to hear the weather and wake up everyone else in the house. Also helps if you're staying up late playing a game or whatever - all detail is expertly preserved even at low volumes. I actually think that full sound at low to medium volumes is actually more important than being able to blow the roof of the house since for most people you don't want to disturb the entire home every time you want to watch a movie. Maybe if the whole family is together watching it's fine to crank it up a bit - and make no mistake, these can get near uncomfortably loud even on our relatively modest amp and they seem to handle it all with ease. As for bass I don't personally feel the need for a subwoofer on these at all. If you want really deep sub-bass you'll need one but for me just doing a small (like somewhere around +1 to +2 db) bass boost on our AVRs EQ helped round them out in our particular living room. Finally in terms of "tone" I haven't looked at any frequency charts for this, but using my own untrained ears I would say they are neutral and do their best to faithfully reproduce whatever sound they are instructed to. The bass is present and punchy, without getting boomy or muddled. The trebles are detailed and clear, without getting sharp and annoying. All in all I'll admit I was a bit scared to drop some decent money on these. I didn't even go to a store to hear them, I just read opinions online and living very close to Paradigm's factory/lab space I'm well aware of their well earned pedigree. However after a single evening of listening to stuff and playing around my only regret was that I didn't buy them sooner.

Bought a pair of Premier 800F to replace my worn out ancient PSB 40MkII's to go with my new Marantz PM8006 integrated amp! After the break in period and hours of listening I am confident that my purchase was well worth it. I bi-wired/bi--amped these speakers and the sound is so clean and clear. I was initially concerned about the bass extension when I first hooked them up, but after breaking them in, it is not an issue at all. I use these speakers for music only [Blues, Country, Classic Rock, Jazz] and Bass is more than adaquate for pleasureable listening levels. I have also had the pleasure of hearing hidden details in my music collection through these speakers, that I had not noticed before. Ordering on line directly from Paradigm's website was quick, easy and the speakers were delivered in great shape, in a timely manner to my door. My friends [one a musician] are shocked at the quality and sound of these Canadian speakers and their price point! I'm not technically attuned or nor able to speak critically of every nuance of a speakers specific tonal atributes like die hard "audiophiles," I just know that I like music and I demand good sound and quality Equipment. In my humble opinion, these speakers more than hold their own against others I've heard that cost way more.

Well I was in the market to replace my Yamaha RX-595, found a replacement thanks to Entertainment Expressions help obtaining my Yamaha R-N803. After realizing the new stereo was much more clear, heard more music, and the overall change in sound, then I figured I needed to replace my Pioneer CS-R570 3 ways 25+ years of pounding them. Thanks to Jeff at Entertainment Expressions I got a few 3 way options to look at. They let me play really hard a set of F700's in the store to see what a lower set were like with my range of music. In the end between the two brands I was looking at I opted for the F800's versus another brand due to the Bass of these versus the larger woofers with a higher low end.. So far I have really been very happy with these F800's even with the smaller woofers. But also thanks to Jeff making sure I knew to allow them to break in has resulted in better bass and overall sound. Only thing that upset me was that you offered $400 off within a few days of my purchase. Do to Jeff's recommended options I did end up with these and glad about it. I am considering a second pair while you have a sale. To anyone that likes Natural Stereo music @ 100 W RMS .019 THD set to flat on EQ/dials, these are a great match for my Rock, Bach, Motzart, Tool, ZZ Top, Lorenna McKennitt, Michael Jackson, Santana The Righteous Brothers, Starship, Steve Miller Band and Jethro Tull to give you a range. May not be what you want for heavy bass, get a sub add on. I am amazed at the clean clear extra sound I get from these, I can actually much better hear the strum of a guitar string or any other instrument. I thought my old system was great and it was, but clearly technology has upped that massively. These I can turn up loud enough to hurt my ears, not distort, and not make me think I will break them as I did many times on my previous RX-595.It was only 80 W RMS .019 THD and it shelled many lesser speakers, only those Japanese Pioneers took the beating If I were to complain it is the sale program and that the tweeter side is a tiny bit overbearing, while mid seams at times over run. Seriously, minor complaints, except sales promos "major complaint". Awesome match to my Yamaha! Thanks to your staff and Entertainment expressions for introducing me, Royce
